The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) has released its annual report of plastic and reconstructive surgery growth trends, finding an overall increase of three percent in breast, body, and facial procedures in 2013. This increase in plastic and reconstructive procedures follows four years of similar growth.
The increase in surgical procedures was impressive, but pales to the increase in the popularity of nonsurgical procedures. According to the ASPS there were 13.4 million nonsurgical procedures performed in the United States in 2013, an increase of nearly seven percent.
The most popular nonsurgical treatments in 2013 were:
- BOTOX® Cosmetic
- Facial fillers
- Chemical peels
A member of the ASPS, South Carolina plastic surgeon Dr. Ted Vaughn is pleased to offer a full range of both surgical and nonsurgical options, helping men and women throughout our state achieve all of their aesthetic goals.
